WONDERS: Click on you wonder then, click on the Hire Help button. It sends out a request for other players to click on. The progress is not dependent on how many players clicked on it but on how many times you've asked for help. REMEMBER to click on it once every 8 hours. Clicking for help within that time will reset the timer for another 8 hours again.

ENERGY: One energy is added every 3 minutes. It is refilled when you level up. You can ask for free help once every hour, more than that the other players have to purchase it with 2 gold. Visit your neighbors for 1 energy, maximum of 20 visits per day. UPDATE your energy bar by movings some buildings around your garden (there is no need to refresh your browser with these method).

ADDING NEIGHBORS: Click on the name at the chat box then click on ADD FRIEND.

VISITING NEIGHBORS: Can earn you 15 silver, 50 XP and 1 energy. Maximum of 20 per day.

SENDING GIFTS: Click on the name at the chat box then click on SEND GIFT. The send free gifts pop up does not work as of now. Sending gifts earn you one point. You can send gifts only once in 30 seconds.

BLITZES: Otherwise known as PERSON in PERIL. DO NOT visit your neighbor via the pop up box, click on the neighbors box instead. When you visit neighbors you would find a person with an EXCLAMATION POINT on top of his/her head. If after a few seconds you do not find one it maybe because 1. you've visited that neighbor the past 24 hours, 2. the neighbors gate is not contiguous with their roads. For hints on objects click here: viewtopic.php?f=80&t=630

I'll add up/update more after a few hours.

UPDATED VERSION

It has been a while since my first (and last) tips post. ) So here's an attempt to collate everything that I know. Compared to the last time that I posted the tips there are a lot of changes in the game, which I will try to include in the tips.

As for the fellows who like to compare levels vs experience of a player in the game, as compared to the initial release of the game, there are a lot of sources for xp (for leveling up) so a player at level 40 at the initial release of the game may know more than a player who is at level 40 and has started after other sources of XP point have been added.

For the new players. we have a lot of sources of information, first and foremost is the "HELP" tab (beside the yellow "INVITE FRIENDS" tab. It will give you a bit of information/overview of the PLAYDOM (PD) platform/version of the game. Other sources of help/information is this: viewforum.php?f=82, although it is not updated to current features of the game.

Another thing is IGNORE ALL THE POP-UPS, "x" them out. If you "Add friend", "Visit neighbor" etc each and everytime, it will be to the detriment of your game play.

TOURNAMENTS

As opposed to the FB version (which I haven't played much), the PD platform includes hourly tournaments where you are able to win prizes. These prizes depends on your level. In general, your prize will change when you hit levels 6, 11, 16 and 21. The most rare and important prize of 2 GOLD will be your prize when you hit LEVEL 16 (otherwise what you see as silver is seen as gold by players above level 16).

The tournament is won by the guild who had the highest points and the player with the most points will win the MVP (most valuable player) prize of 2 gold, regardless of what level the player is.

You are eligible to claim the prize if you had at least 30 points and your guild has won.

You will be able to to claim the prize within the next 59 minutes after the tournament is won.

Present hourly prize can be seen at the top left of the screen and the prize from the previous hour is seen at the feed.

Playdom points is earned by:

Clicking on "claim", "help them", "like outfit", "add as friend" and "welcome them"
Sending gifts through the feed (1 point)
Expanding your garden ( 50 points)
Sharing your completed scenes and quests (5 points for you and # of active "clickers").
Sending gifts through the feed earns you 1 point but will cost you silver or gold.

Sharing completed scenes/quests DOES NOT REMOVE any silver from you.

If points are not updating here are a few tips that you can do:

1. Send a gift through the feed.
2. Refresh your browser.
3. Clear you cache
4. Log out then log in
5. Click on "my dashboard" or click on one of the 2 games on top then return to GoT.
6. Re-boot your computer.

SENDING GIFTS

There are 3 types of gifts:

Gift in garden (GIG)
By visiting a neighbor and placing a gift you will be able to earn 1 energy. Even after you've maxed out on your blitzes. Make sure you have at least 2 paths in your garden if you want visitors (one for the Blitzes and the other for the GIG)

Feed gift
Click on the name at the chat box then click on SEND GIFT. The send free gifts pop up does not work as of now. Sending gifts earn you one point. You can send gifts only once in 30 seconds.

Daily Friend Gift
These are the gifts you can send for FREE, in general you will be able to check these out on your messages tab. Of the gifts listed the most helpful ones are the GOGGLES, 1 ENERGY, and the MAZE (it sells for most silver as compared to the other items).

If you have heard the term "bounce", it is with relation to the daily friend gift. There is a useful thread on the forums for that. Important points with regarding to bouncing gifts:

1. As opposed to what is said, you can "SEND to ALL" a gift and still be able to bounce gifts, that is if you "ACCEPT and RECIPROCATE" an hour after you "SEND to ALL". This is based on my observation as I have used "SEND to ALL" countless times and still be able to bounce gifts.
2. DO NOT use "ACCEPT and RECIPROCATE to all" button if you want to maximize your bouncing capacity.
3. Your free gifts expires after 14 days.

ENERGY

One energy is added every 3 minutes.
It is refilled when you level up.
You can ask for free help once every hour, more than that the other players have to purchase it with 2 gold. These energy can be seen in your inventory as your "energy cans" and you will be able to use maximum of 11 per day (Even though the pop up says 10)
Visit your neighbors for 1 energy, maximum of 20 visits per day. After visiting 20 neighbors you will receive a notice that your "coin pouch is full".
Placing a gift in the garden adds 1 energy to your energy bar even if "your coin pouch is full".
The maximum energy is 60 is you leave it to refill on its own and 99 if you use your daily free energy/energy cans.
UPDATE your energy bar by moving or flipping some buildings around your garden (there is no need to refresh your browser with this method).

UPGRADING BUILDINGS and WONDERS.

Click on you wonder/building then, click on the Hire Help button. It sends out a request for other players to click on. You will be able to ask for a "new wonder" help and materials at the same time.

For requesting materials it is once every 24, 8, 4, 2 hours depending on what you are able to do. This is yet a controversy with regards to where frequency is concerned, it is said on the pop-up that it is once every 24 hours but as far as I can recall, at the early launch of the requests for wonders, someone teaching some players this feature said that we can go to as frequent as 8 hours. It is up to you to risk your schedule and try or not.

FRIENDS vs NEIGHBORS

Again, IGNORE THE "add friends" pop-up. To add friends (who automatically become your neighbor), click on the name at the chat box then click on "ADD FRIEND"

FRIENDs are the ones you will be able to send daily free gifts to or bounce gifts to. You will be able to unfriend a player but the player remains on your neighbor bar. Your friend list will be the same for ALL PLAYDOM games (GoT, B&B, CoW, WO).

It is a theory that you will be able to receive materials more often if your friend list is less than 200. For those who have reached 200, you might have more than that to where your material requests gets lost.

VISITING NEIGHBORS: Can earn you 15 silver, 50 XP and 1 energy. Maximum of 20 per day.

PLACING A GIFT on a neighbor's garden earns you one energy. Again flip or move something in your garden to update your energy bar.

BLITZES

Otherwise known as PERSON in PERIL. DO NOT visit your neighbor via the pop up box, click on the neighbors box instead. When you visit neighbors you would find a person with an EXCLAMATION POINT on top of his/her head. If after a few seconds you do not find one it maybe because 1. you've visited that neighbor the past 24 hours, 2. the neighbor has no paths.

WAYS TO ADVANCE IN THE GAME

PLAYDOM POINTS

For the guild to win, for you to get the hourly prize or gain the MVP prize.
For ranking up, another way for you to earn gold, http://www.playdom.com/ranks (Premium currency equals to GOLD for GoT/City of Wonder and B&B). To check how many points you need to rank up, go to your dashboard.
For buying items for your avatar.

XP POINTS

These are the ones you get when you build in your garden and complete scenes or quests, it helps you reach the next LEVEL. Leveling up is required for you to be able to purchase other materials in the garden. This is why other players often (1) choose an item with most XP points to build/purchase so that they reach the next level and (2) play the last scene of the last chapter over and over since it is the one that would give the most XP and silver.

When you level up, your energy bar is replenished and earn 1 gold.

Your neighbors are arranged based on who has the most XP.

REPUTATION POINTS

The reputation is provided for by the items you use in your garden. The higher the reputation points, the more the scenes you are able to open. This is why some of your neighbors have a junkyard for a garden and some choose the item that gives the highest reputation per square to build.

Once you have a scene opened it will remain open even if you remove reputation points from your garden.

Some players build reputation points in advance (attaining the highest reputation they can) to open yet-to-be-released chapters. For most players once this chapter is released it is automatically open.

Adding nrg (energy) once per hour = at top of garden under nrg click 'get more', click on pop-up 'ask friends', watch for your name (will be red icon, then your name) in feed, when your name is not in feed anymore, refresh. If someone clicked on 'help them' (which had your name) you will receive one can energy which is put into your inventory.

When you click on your wonder, then click on hire help - it sends a build request to your FRIENDS in their message tab. The progress is totally dependent on the number of your friends who click accept.

Thanks for these tips. I am a silent clicker and never post on the forum but I'm a bit deperate since I have sent numerous tickets to PD but the response I get, regardless of the question is "clear your cache". Perhaps you can answer a couple of questions for me. I play several times a day and gift frequently, I know this may sound silly but when i get requests for building materials in my messages, I check my stock and if I have enough to spare I accept. I'm not quite sure if the materials I send are taken from my inventory, eg. glass, wood, nails etc. Also, I'm at level 82 and I'm thinking of starting a new garden in facebook. Will I be able to keep the friends I have or can I only use my friends on facebook? I only have a couple of friends on facebook that play GoT. Please help if you know the answers or you can tell me where to find answers to these questions. Thank you :)

None of the materials you send to friends when you answer the requests in your Messages tab are taken from your own stockpile. Accept each of your friends' requests for materials with confidence, as your own numbers of items will not be diminished by doing so.

FB and PD gardens are totally separate animals. So no, nothing from one game site can be transferred to or shared with the other. The games operate differently, too. On FB, there's no chat, there are no tournaments each hour (so no gold to win), and you have to be FB friends with your neighbors in the game. But upgrading your garden items is easier there. I don't play on FB, so there may be more differences than what I've noted here.

Hope that helps. :)
