Bounty Predator II is only the second player ever to be featured on the blog. He is a serious fighter (you can tell from his stats above), and has his sights set on the Legendary Fighters list. In real life, Bounty Predator II is almost the complete opposite of a Mobster; he is a Police Officer. This everyday hero is quickly rising in Mobsters 2 and we wouldn’t be surprised if we saw him on the Made Men list tomorrow! Other than enjoying Mobsters 2, Bounty Predator II also enjoys watching his favorite film, Star Wars, and listening to his favorite musician of all time, Eddie Van Halen.

Here are some of the other things we asked Bounty Predator II, and how he responded:

Mobsters Team: What is the First Video Game you ever played?

Bounty Predator II: Pac-Man on Atari.

Who is your favorite Superhero?

Superman.

What is the Strangest Job you ever had?

Never had a “strange” job.

Mobsters 2 is still new, but so far who is your Archrival?

None yet. But I’m waiting.

In your opinion, what is the Best Mobsters 2 Feature?

The time limit for healing. I do wish it was 2 mins instead of 3.

What has been your Greatest Mobsters 2 Moment so far?

Bounty hunting. It is alot better in Mobsters 2.

Which movie do you like better: Godfather or Scarface?

Scarface.

———————————————

Congratulations again to Bounty Predator II! We are very happy to feature him here on the blog. We are also happy that we have a game that can allow people who put their lives on the line everyday the chance to kick back and have some fun. If you know anyone else out there who deserves to be featured here for their accomplishments in Mobsters 2, please don’t hesitate to send in their info and why you think they should be featured.

Thanks again to Bounty Predator II for talking to us, and we wish all of our players continued success in the game!

New Location Just Around the Corner

Posted in Mobsters 2, News and Updates on August 28th, 2009 by Brian Drake

newlocationWe posted a teaser last week, and we just wanted to let you know that the new location is still coming!

We don’t mean to be Draggin‘ this out, but we want to make sure that everything works and looks Great before we release the new content.

Fortune-ately for all of you, the release is still expected in the next week or so. Keep checking back to see if the new location has arrived, and if today is the lucky day.

Attack & Defense Stats Display

Posted in Mobsters 2, News and Updates on August 27th, 2009 by Brian Drake

attackdefense

Since the early days of Mobsters 1, players have always wanted more visibility into how their equipment was working for them in fights. You have the attack value that is used when you initiate fights, and the defense value that is used when someone attacks you. With 7 different equipment types, all including numerous items, it can be difficult to add all of these values for each fight.

With our newest feature, available to a percentage of players today, when you go to the equipment page you will see the total attack and defense values that will be used when you fight other players in your current location. These numbers are only being taken from your equipment and do not factor in your individual attack and defense value (found on the My Stats page in My Mobster), so please keep that in mind.

If you find yourself losing fights when other people attack you, now you will be able to go to the Equipment tab to see what your total equipment defense is. In the case of the person’s profile shown above, they have very little defense and are probably being beaten on a constant basis.buyweapon

Housing the total equipment attack and defense values on the Equipment tab will also allow you to immediately purchase items to make your stats better. You will notice that when you buy an item, a .38 Special for example, the numbers for attack and defense at the top of the page will usually both go up.

We hope that this feature will help everyone understand and navigate the game better, and that you will be able to build bigger and better Mobsters. If you have any feedback or suggestions, feel free to leave a comment below. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Please note that initially not all players will see this feature. We are running a test to make sure that this works and is useful, so please bear with us during this time.

The Elusive Red BMW

Posted in Community, Mobsters 2 on August 26th, 2009 by Brian Drake

bmw copySo I don’t just write posts for the blog and respond to player concerns, I also play the game all day long almost every day of the week. I do missions, try to be better than my friends, and sit and wait for my stats to regenerate so I can do it some more. I’m just a typical Mobsters 2 addict!

So after playing for over a month, I have mastered most of the missions that are available for me to do, I have all of the equipment I can buy, and I can be almost any class I want. But for the last two weeks or so, I have been hung up on this quest-line that ends with a red BMW. I do the “Boost a Car” mission as many times as I can, then wait for my energy to regenerate, go get more Ignition Pullers from Stripping Cars in the Bronx and start the process again. I will occasionally leave New York to do some missions in Jersey and the other locales, but I would have to say that I have spent 3/4’s of my time just going after this BMW.

When I ask most of my co-workers and friends, they say: ‘Yeah, I got that. Like, a long time ago. As a matter of fact, I think I have like 3 of ‘em’. You would think this would make me optimistic, but it just makes me angry. Not only do my co-workers and friends not care about my struggle, they also overly use the word ‘like’.

Well, I am happy to say that after 2-1/2 weeks of grinding, today I finally got it! I was so happy I almost jumped out of my chair. I looked around at my co-workers to make sure that no one saw me, then I shared my good news.

bmw

I share my news with all of you now in the hopes that there is someone out there playing just like me, who thinks that they are never going to get this item, or whatever other item they have been desperately seeking. I want you to know that you will get there, so keep trying. Don’t give up, and eventually you will be riding in style!

Mob Size Displayed On Attack Page

Posted in Mobsters 2, News and Updates on August 25th, 2009 by Brian Drake

fightingmobmembers

Want to know how many mob members you will fight with before you attack someone? Hate having to go all the way to the My Mobster tab to find this info?

Well now you won’t have to go anywhere! When you go to the Attack page to see who you can take out your frustration on, you will now see exactly how many mob members and hired guns you will take into battle before you pick your target. This will allow you to pick players closer to your size, or let you know that you probably shouldn’t attack the guy with over 100 mob members. Yikes!

Let us know if you like the feature, and if you have any suggestions on how to make this or other elements of the attack page better!

Twitter Contest: Win $5,000 USD!

Posted in Community, Mobsters 2, News and Updates on August 25th, 2009 by Brian Drake

twitter_tStarting Monday August 31, we will be hosting a 2-week long Mobsters 2 Contest on Twitter for the chance to win $5,000 real-life dollars. This isn’t in-game currency we’re talking about, this is straight cash! You can buy a lot with that.

Here’s essentially how the contest will work:

  • We post 2 questions per day for 2 weeks
  • You answer as many of these questions correctly as you can
  • Each time you answer correctly you will be entered into a drawing for $5,000
  • At the end of 2 weeks we pick our winner and they love us forever

The questions will be about general Mobster knowledge as well as knowledge of the game. During the time the contest is running, you will be able to track your progress and see how other players are doing on a leaderboard we provide. This will also show who is correctly answering our questions the fastest, so you can see how dedicated your opposition really is!

New Location Coming…

Posted in Mobsters 2, News and Updates on August 21st, 2009 by Brian Drake

hiretopdjWe know that a lot of players still have plenty of missions to master, tons of equipment to buy, and numerous territories to own, but that won’t stop us from working to give you more!

Currently in development is a brand new location that will provide you with more missions, equipment and territories, as well as some new achievements, loot items and mastery rewards. Now we can’t say what this location will be right now, but we can tell you that you might be in for some big trouble once you get there. This new location will not be for the faint-of-heart, and there is definitely going to be some serious mob action going on. It’s certainly not going to look anything like the picture above. Those two need to stop showing off.

You can expect the new location in early September, and we will do our best to keep you updated on our progress. We might even drop a few more hints along the way to get you more excited about the release.

So get back over to the game and back into the action. Those knee-caps aren’t going to break themselves!

Character Class Confessions: The High Roller

Posted in Character Class Confessions, Mobsters 2 on August 20th, 2009 by Brian Drake

high_rollerknockoffrolexesfordgtloadeddice

For the first installment of our Character Class Confessions Series, we will be getting inside the head of the High Roller. (Perfect timing, you could say, as the Las Vegas location was released mere weeks ago). We caught up with one of these crazy cats hanging out in a casino on The Strip and here is how things went:

Mobsters Team: With the recent introduction of Las Vegas into the game you must be pretty psyched, huh?

High Roller: Yeah, it’s about time. I’ve been stacking up the dough in Downtown [NY] and I needed something to blow it on. There are still a bit too many brutish missions, but I suppose that’s to be expected.

You seem to have cash rolling in; what would you say is your favorite territory in the game so far?

Well, you know me, I’m partial to anything that has to do with gambling: casino’s, sportsbooks, etc. But I would have to say that I’m kinda diggin’ the High-Rise Residences. Sweet cash-flow, looks good, ladies love ‘em. You can’t go wrong with some of those.

I guess not… So, would it be safe to say that if a card game, slot machine or similar mini-game was added to Mobsters 2 you would play it non-stop?

I would play something like that. Probably a good bit. Gotta leave some time for the ladies, though. You know what I’m talkin’ about?

Yeah, I suppose you’re right. So what advice would you give to someone just starting out in Mobsters 2?

The best advice I can give is to play smart. Always look at the odds, assess the risk, the reward, and don’t be afraid to go all in.

Very insightful, good advice. Well, it’s been great chatting with you. Thanks for your time and we wish you the best of luck and continued success.

Thanks. Oh, and remember to tell all those players out there that keep tryin’ to attack me and take all my money to back off. I might be more concerned with making rolls than I am with throwing bones, but I’m no slouch.

Will do. Thanks again for talking to us.

Be sure to check out the High Roller character class in the game under My Mobster: Change Class. The High Roller will receive 12% more cash and 24% more experience on gambling missions.

Friend Leaderboard Bug Update

Posted in Bugs & Technical Issues, Mobsters 2 on August 20th, 2009 by Brian Drake

gfldrbrdWe are currently hard at work fixing a known issue that occurs to some players who have over 100 friends playing Mobsters 2. If you are in this group, you may be experiencing errors that will cause you to not see any of your friends displayed. These errors are currently affecting a very small group of players, but we are working hard to make sure that this feature is working for them as soon as possible. If you are one of those affected, you can expect things to be resolved by early next week. We apologize for any frustration this may cause, and appreciate your patience while we work through the issues.
